Good Rainy Day Reads?
Seems like it has rained for days and days. I’m a native Californian, so I know we need it, but raise your hand if you’re getting tired of all the rain, or snow, or wind, or just plain cold. Okay, you can put your hand down now because it’s only January, and we’re sure to be in it for a few more weeks. And all that nasty weather makes for a good excuse to curl up with a good book, anyway, right?
So what have you been reading? I am having some trouble finding something that really engages me. I think I’ve started about six books in the last two weeks, only to give up after three or four chapters. I’m looking for some recommendations. Can you give me a quick review of something you’ve read lately that you loved?

Speaking of reviews, if you’ve already read The Boy Who Bought It, but have not yet posted a review, I could really use a few more reviews on that one. The advertising company I use requires ten Amazon reviews before it will accept an ad, so that book could use a few more reviews than it currently has listed.
For once, the daffodils have timed it right this year. They held off opening up until after yesterday’s thunderstorm and driving rain, and it looks like it will be a while before we get another storm, so they will be in their glory. I can hardly wait for the one hundred or so I now have in the yard to open!
I have recently read two books that I enjoyed very much. One was the Michele Obama book.
The second was “Good Hope Road” by Lisa Wingate, on sale at Costco for $9.99. I rarely read novels but I truly enjoyed this book about people who were brought together by a tornado that swept through their town. The people in the story end up making the event a stepping off point for make big changes in their lives and getting past emotional blocks they have carried around for decades.
Thanks, Kat! I will add those to my list.
