Because it sounded like fun, I decided to create an audiobook of Fire at Will’s. There’s a web site to do that. (Of course there’s a web site. Isn’t there always a web site?) So I logged on and eventually found a narrator with all the right voices. We went back and forth, nailing down the accents for all the characters.
Once we settled on those, we launched into her narrating each chapter, and me listening to each one, sending corrections, and listening again. It was quite the production, both more work and more fun than I had anticipated.
Now that it’s done, it is hysterical listening to the conversations as our friends from Arroyo Loco come alive. Helen’s voice is especially funny, and spot on. As the kids say, ROF, LOL!
Here’s where you come in. I have reserved one free copy of this audiobook exclusively for those who already subscribe to this news page. All subscribers have to do is comment below, and you will be entered to win. And, your odds of winning this drawing are extraordinarily good because there are not very many of you!
I’ve also reserved a free copy of this audiobook for new subscribers, so tell your friends. Everyone who fills in the subscriber information—see over there in the right sidebar?—between now and June 30 will be entered to win this second free copy.
Thank you for your support, and good luck!
it sounds fun!
I hope so! Thanks for entering.
I love Cherie O’Boyle’s writing style, especially the humor she interjects in each story. Also, I like not being able to puzzle out who the perpetrator is. That makes reading mysteries enjoyable.
I’m trying to plot out the next one now, Rea Deane. This part is not easy!
Hi Cherie! I was just checking out Sisters in Crime – and looked to see if you were listed – and there you were – with a link to this website. Looks like you may have done some updating of the site since I last visited it. Great appearance! And congratulations on winning your award! Now I’m hoping to win your audio book – since I love your stories so much – and am taking lessons from you in how to get my stories and other works out to the world. Many thanks!
Thank you for your support, Betty!
